Explore the benefits

Value for training providers

Expand your teaching capacity.
Build on your strengths.

Connect the programs, equipment, and expertise you already have with additional resources and partners across the consortium.

01

Broaden equipment access

Give learners experience with instrumentation and process data across participating sites. Expand the range of systems available for instruction without duplicating every capital purchase.

02

Fit content to your programs

Select modules that complement two- or four-year degrees, certificates, and apprenticeship instruction. Map activities to your outcomes, prerequisites, and institutional requirements.

03

Connect science with digital practice

Help learners acquire and interpret manufacturing data, understand control logic, and make informed process decisions in a scientific and quality context.

04

Build instructor capability

Collaborate with automation specialists, scientific educators, and equipment hosts. Agree on the preparation and support instructors need for the selected modules and systems.

05

Strengthen employer relationships

Use workforce priorities to guide practical learning activities. Work with employers on relevant skills, assessments, and apprenticeship or incumbent worker pathways.

06

Put your expertise to work

Contribute instrumentation, curriculum, or instruction that other partners can use. Explore reciprocal access and participation arrangements with the consortium team.

What you can gain

More learning possibilities.

Broaden the equipment, technical perspectives, and employer connections available to your learners. Identify activities that strengthen existing programs and build instructor confidence with new systems.

What you can contribute

Capability others can learn from.

Bring a relevant instrument, a curriculum module, teaching expertise, or an employer-connected program. The team will work with you to define contribution, access, scheduling, and participation arrangements.

Frequently asked questions

For training providers

Can we offer advanced training without buying every instrument?

BioPATHs is developing shared digital connections so institutions can learn from instrumentation at other participating training sites. The SCADA approach supports training on configured equipment controls, process-data acquisition, and interpretation through connected interfaces. Available instruments, access permissions, and scheduling must be agreed with the hosting partners; each institution does not need to duplicate every instrument.

Do we need to rewrite our degree or certificate program?

No complete redesign is assumed. Partners can identify modules that fit existing courses, certificates, or apprenticeship related technical instruction. Faculty should map content to their learning outcomes, prerequisites, contact hours, and institutional approval requirements before incorporating it.

What support is available for faculty and instructors?

Partners can discuss shared instructional materials, equipment-specific instruction, and collaboration with subject matter experts. Preparation will depend on the instructor’s background and the equipment or platform involved, including orientation to remote connections where needed. Specific support arrangements will be agreed as participation is developed.

How does a training provider join the consortium?

Start with the Partner with us form and tell us about your learners, programs, equipment, and interests. The team will discuss curriculum fit, possible contributions, access needs, and participation arrangements with you. Membership terms, costs, and onboarding details will be confirmed directly rather than assumed at the inquiry stage.

What technology supports remote laboratory learning?

A shared Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) platform connects equipment and presents process information through dashboards and human-machine interfaces. Depending on the instrument and setup, learners can acquire data, use configured controls, and assess the resulting process response. Connectivity, permissions, and any remote operation are determined with the equipment host; access is not unrestricted.
