Value for employers

Build capability.
Measure the return.

Focus investment on the skills your operation needs, then assess the results against a baseline that matters to your business.

01

Prepare people for your workflows

Connect scientific foundations with control systems, process data, and quality practices relevant to your operations. Help new hires enter facility-specific training with a stronger foundation.

02

Align skills across locations

Use shared learning activities and assessment approaches to support a common baseline across sites, while tailoring instruction to local equipment and roles.

03

Upskill the team you have

Build targeted learning around changing equipment, automation, and digital workflows. Discuss short-term instruction or apprenticeship pathways for incumbent employees.

04

Share the cost of training capacity

Draw on equipment and expertise across training partners. Explore where shared instruction can reduce duplication and the need to develop every training resource internally.

05

Shape the talent pipeline

Bring your priority skills and practical workflows into curriculum discussions. Help training providers prepare learners for the tasks and systems your teams use.

06

Connect training to paid work

Work with apprenticeship and education partners to align related technical instruction with structured on-the-job learning and the needs of each employer cohort.

A practical approach to ROI

Define success before training begins.

Choose the workforce problem, establish your current performance, and agree on the learning outcomes. Then compare results for the participating cohort using measures such as:

Readiness and time to proficiencyTrack time to role-specific qualification and the coaching hours required during onboarding.
Training investmentCompare curriculum development, instructor time, equipment access, and cost per learner or employee.
Task performanceAssess interpretation of process data, troubleshooting, and completion of relevant technical tasks.
Workforce progressionFollow completion, retention, and movement into expanded responsibilities over an agreed period.

These are measures to agree with each employer. BioPATHs has not yet established program-wide ROI or demonstrated reductions in onboarding time.

Frequently asked questions

For employers

What workforce need does BioPATHs address?

Biopharmaceutical work increasingly combines scientific understanding with automated equipment, digital interfaces, and quality practices. BioPATHs brings these areas together through modular instruction and shared equipment-based learning, helping employers address the gap between science training and industrial automation skills.

How can BioPATHs support onboarding and job readiness?

Training can introduce learners to relevant instruments, process data, equipment controls, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) before or alongside employer-based learning. The aim is to strengthen readiness and reduce avoidable gaps; facility-specific onboarding and qualification remain essential, and reductions in onboarding time have not yet been demonstrated for BioPATHs.

How can training be consistent across multiple sites?

Shared curriculum modules, equipment access, and common assessment approaches can help partners teach the same core skills across locations. Employer-specific content can be added for local systems and roles. Credential options and requirements are confirmed with the participating training provider or credentialing organization.

Can BioPATHs help upskill our existing workforce?

Yes—incumbent worker development is part of the consortium’s scope. Partners can discuss short-term training or Registered Apprenticeship options around the skills an employer needs. Availability, scheduling, costs, and any funding eligibility depend on the program and participating organizations.

How can employers shape the curriculum?

Employers can identify priority skills, review instructional content, and help connect learning activities to real workflows. The modular approach supports different equipment, legacy systems, and more advanced automation environments while retaining essential scientific and quality foundations.
